Mango Tart Recipe

This Mango Tart is an ideal dessert for mango fans. The buttery crust complements the sweet and juicy mango slices perfectly. The apricot jam adds a tart note to balance out the sweetness of the mango.

  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cook Time: 20 minutes
  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the egg yolk and ice water.
  • Stir in the egg mixture and the flour mixture until the dough comes together.
  • Roll out the dough to fit a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom on a lightly floured surface.
  • Trim the edges and use a fork to prick the bottom.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  • Allow to cool completely after removing from the oven.
  • Place the cooled crust on top of the mango slices.
  • Warm the apricot jam in a small saucepan over low heat until melted.
  • Brush the mango slices with the melted jam.
  • Before serving, chill the tart for at least 1 hour.
