Apple Meringue Tart Recipe

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Fill a 9-inch tart pan halfway with pie crust and press it into the bottom and up the sides.
  • Fill the pie crust with apple slices.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
  • Beat in the sugar and vanilla extract gradually until the mixture is glossy.
  • Spread the meringue on top of the apples, making sure to seal the crust's edges.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the meringue is golden brown.
  • Before serving, allow the tart to cool to room temperature.
